What we believe
Our statement of belief is:
1 The Bible is the only inspired, inerrant, infallible Word of God; and as such, is indispensable in teaching, preaching, and as a guide for living. (John 5: 39; 2 Timothy 3:17)
2 There is only one God, eternally existent in the persons of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
3 The creation of the universe, world, and man was a direct act of God.
4 The deity of the Lord Jesus Christ, His virgin birth, His sinless life, His miracles, His vicarious and atoning death through His shed blood on the cross, His bodily resurrection, His ascension to the right hand of the Father, His personal return in power and glory are undeniable.
5 For the salvation of the lost and sinful man, regeneration by the Holy Spirit is essential.
6 The resurrection of both the saved and the lost; the saved unto the resurrection of the life in heaven and the lost unto the resurrection of the eternal damnation in hell.
7 That the Church is the body of Christ, consisting of everyone who has been born again on the Spirit of God and is expressed in both the universal church and the local church.
8 The Holy Sprit is active today in the world and church to convict of sin, to manifest Jesus to hungry hearts, to guide believers into all truth, and to bestow spiritual gifts upon believers for the edification of the church.
We affirm that evangelism is the priority of the Church, and that the results of evangelism include obedience to Christ, incorporation into His church and responsible service in the world as more fully stated in the Baptist Faith and Message Rev. 2000.
